Packed with people and surrounded by modern art, the museum's main auditorium is often the venue for the festival's biggest acts.

This charming old theater that overlooks the pond was originally built in 1867 and has been home to Iceland's most prestigious cultural events ever since, with the exception of Iceland Airwaves. Just kidding. This venue typically showcases the more avant-garde artists of Airwaves, where progressive music clashes with the classical interior of the theater.
Some legendary shows: Bang Gang (2002), Einar Örn (2002), Trabant (2002), Ólöf Arnalds (2006), Stilluppsteypa (2006) and Stórsveit Nix Noltes (2006).
Organ
Hafnarstræti 1-3, 101 Reykjavík - Approx. capacity: 300
This is a brand-new rock venue with an old soul and is run by some of Reykjavík's most seasoned music and nightlife veterans. Eclectic and experimental, Organ is one of the festival's newest venues. But it's already promising to be one of the most exciting. Mr. Destiny promoted a Franz Ferdinand show at Organ in September '07.
22

Used to be Barinn-the country's main venue for exciting DJs, new electronic music and riotous happenings.
